Join our Dispute Resolution and Legal Notices Team and play a key role in assisting with managing responses to a variety of legal and regulatory notices for the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) Division of Macquarie Group.
Sometimes our clients become involved in matters where external agencies require access to their information. Whilst these matters do not involve Macquarie, we can be asked to provide courts and law enforcement bodies with information and documents relating to our clients under specific compelling provisions of the law.
As a Support Officer in the Legal and Regulatory Notices team, your role will focus on reviewing the large number of daily notices we receive from courts, law enforcement bodies and regulators, sent via our Central Legal team. You will perform searches across many BFS-wide systems in order to identify whether the persons/entities named in those notices match the names of any BFS clients.
To be successful in this role, attention to detail is essential. You will be able to work efficiently in a busy environment whilst ensuring that all notices are searched accurately. You will use your decision-making skills to determine whether a response is required from BFS. In addition, you will have a demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, follow processes and manage competing priorities.
We are looking for a like-minded individual to join our growing team, who shares our energy, drive and motivation.
Who are the Dispute Resolution and Legal Notices Team?
We are responsible for:
- All Banking and Financial Services Group defended litigation (i.e. all Australian Federal and State Courts)
- All disputes lodged with AFCA
- Escalations from internal investigations/Client Care Teams
- Escalations from Client Investigations Team
- Fraud investigations
- Regulatory investigations
- Legal and regulatory notices
We are involved in a variety of matters across the Banking and Financial Services Group, both matters that involve notices and others.
We recognise that everyone is different, and we work hard to make sure our team members are supported to live their best lives – whether at home or at work. That’s why flexibility, diversity and inclusivity is important to us. In this role, you will have the option to ‘work where it works’ – some days, you will work from the Macquarie office to connect with your colleagues in person and other days, you might want to work from home.
