Governance & Operations Analyst


This is an exciting opportunity to join the newly created team within Enterprise Compliance - Governance & Operations, where you will apply your excellent stakeholder management skills and help to drive improvement and change.

Operating as part of the Governance & Operations team in Sydney, you will join team calls, team chats and work to drive the wider team’s strategy.  You will report locally, in addition to reporting into a Manager in the Sydney team.

As part of the team your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out activities as part of Licensing requirements, including Continuing Professional Development hours and record maintenance, supporting the global Regulatory Risk community
  • Compiling information for regulatory notices
  • Conducting reviews, monitoring and escalations within Compliance
  • Liaising with global Compliance Stakeholders

To be successful in the role you should:

  • Have a strong attention to detail
  • Be proficient with Microsoft Office applications
  • Have excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and be confident in interacting with people
  • Be proactive and organised
  • Be able to partner with stakeholders within Compliance
  • Have a demonstrated achievement drive and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Be able to interpret complex verbal information

The role of RMG Compliance is to maintain a comprehensive Compliance framework to enable our businesses to discharge their regulatory and compliance obligations.  

RMG Compliance discharges its responsibilities through activities designed to: 

  • Prevent: Preventing non-compliant activity, anticipating risk events and educating staff on agreed approaches 
  • Detect: Applying second line oversight to identify non-compliant activity and incidents 
  • Respond: Responding to issues and engaging with regulators 

The Head of RMG Compliance reports directly to the Chief Risk Officer

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Behavioural Risk, Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk, and RMG Enterprise Support.
