We are looking for a junior lawyer to join our commodities and global markets legal team in New York. In this role, you will be given the unique opportunity to assist our futures business in the US. Your knowledge of futures and derivatives related documentation and regulations will be instrumental to driving new business opportunities forward and helping to chart the next steps in business development.
In this position, you will be drafting, reviewing and negotiating futures and derivatives documentation including customer agreements, loan agreements and non-disclosure agreements. Relying on your current knowledge, you will advise the business on current regulatory frameworks and assist in facilitating transactions and addressing regulatory issues as they arise.
Additional day to day responsibilities will include:
- Advising the business and liaising with various internal departments on futures regulation and assisting with regulatory inquiries
- Remaining up to date with existing and upcoming regulations which affects the business
- Instructing and liaising with external counsel
- Reviewing associated legal opinions
- Document management and internal systems process work
To be considered for this position, you will have 2-5 years of experience at a top tier law firm or financial services firm supporting a front office futures business as their legal counsel. Current NY bar admission is required. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are important for the role.
