Financial Accountant

Join our country finance Americas team as an Executive in our Jacksonville, FL office and play a key role acting as financial controller for legal entities with mix of delivery responsibilities, process ownership and talent management. The Country Finance Americas function is part of Macquarie Finance Management Group and focused on the financial control, financial reporting, financial compliance, and legal entity control of Macquarie Group entities across the various businesses.

What role will you play?

You will prepare and review balance sheet commentaries, legal entity recaps and funding for transaction investments, cash settlements of intercompany balances as well as manage foreign exchange exposure and review journals for hedging. You will engage in regular compliance activities and conduct extensive International Finance Reporting Standards based financial reporting; in addition to preparing and reviewing financial statements and supporting them both at Group and/or at subsidiary levels.  You will oversee the reconciliation and attestation of balances and ensure both completeness and accuracy of ledger data for Reporting/Tax/Legal Entity Control & analytical requirements.  You will identify and proactively resolve issues in an effort to review and improve existing processes, controls and systems in addition to managing group regulatory reporting submissions and tax submissions.

What you offer:

  • Postgraduate accounting qualification, preferably CA or CPA.
  • 6-7 years’ experience in Financial Accounting (essential) which may include public accounting firm experience.
  • Confident and competent in oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-starter with strong control mind set and the ability to demonstrate capability and willingness to be "hands-on.”
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with the ability to balance between often competing priorities.
