Commodity Logistics Junior Analyst

New York

Join us as a Commodity Logistics Junior Analyst and be a part of a team that focuses on physical agriculture and metals transactions.  You will have the additional opportunity to work with our physical oil and renewables team within the wider global team across commodity scheduling & waterborne shipping and agricultural inventory transactions throughout the Americas.

What role will you play?

In this dynamic role, you will effectively manage logistics and scheduling tasks within our inventory management platform.  Daily tasks will include client physical transactions, working closely with our Origination and Settlements team, as well as continuous monitoring of our physical product inspection platform across our portfolio. Collaborating internally with other support areas in credit, tax, market operations, finance and legal, you will develop your understanding of our portfolio thru Pre and Post Trade reconciliations and will build a robust knowledge of deal types within our platform. You will also work closely with internal stakeholders and groups on data and management reporting initiatives, insurance & compliance reporting tasks as well as funding management.

Salary range for this position: $90,000 - $115000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award. 

What you offer:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Business or Economics; backgrounds in Engineering, Mathematics or Science will be considered.
  • Ability to think independently and paired with strong time management skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong interest in deal management, front office support or shipping (chartering or waterborne) related scheduling or logistics field.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload across a portfolio of clients.
  • Desire to learn and have exposure to ancillary operational areas such as profit and loss reporting, position management, funding, compliance reporting, tax and insurance. Previous exposure to these areas a plus.
