Due to the continued expansion of Macquarie’s trading businesses in the Americas, we have an opportunity for a candidate with 0-2 years of experience to join our Credit team in New York with a focus on derivative and fund lending transactions within the Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) division. The variety of work offers unmatched learning and development opportunities working with an established and experienced Credit team. Given this is an early career role we are seeking candidates with strong academic backgrounds from top Universities and a demonstrated interest in finance.
Banking, credit research, alternative lending, or rating agency experience specifically with credit analysis of private credit and private equity funds is helpful. Experience with derivative transactions and ISDA negotiations is highly beneficial. Additionally, some understanding of consumer lending, corporate lending, equites, and debt trading is helpful. You will be exposed to a wide range of trading, lending, and investing that is conducted by the Macquarie Group.
In this role, you will be assisting with transactions early in the deal process, identifying key issues and coordinating the credit response. Conducting real time, ongoing and self-initiated monitoring of counterparty developments/market changes, reviewing new counterparties (primarily fund counterparties, special purpose vehicles and corporates) and providing recommendations and opinions on establishment of limits is also a function of this role. You will also be responsible for the Annual review of existing counterparty limits and monitoring credit exposures, as well as performing due diligence and negotiation of legal documentation and recommending appropriate mitigants.
Persuasive communication skills (both written and verbal), combined with confidence when being challenged will be necessary in this role as you liaise with the traders/marketers and respond to trading requests. Being a collegial team member who builds open dialogue-based relationships will help you succeed in meeting with existing and potential clients as part of the due diligence process to gain a better understand of the client’s financial position and operations.

Salary range for this position: $81,000- $122,000 USD/Yr. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. The successful candidate may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.
