Manager - Operations Risk (Non-Financial Risk)

Our Non-Financial Risk team is responsible for embedding the Operational Risk Management Framework across Macquarie including financial regulatory reporting and financial statutory reporting risk. Joining us as an Operational Risk Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing non-financial risk across Macquarie, while being part of a supportive and inclusive team.

In this role you’ll have an impact by:

  • Analysing major incidents across Macquarie and ensuring swift resolution
  • Identifying internal control deficiencies and provide recommendations for improving operations both efficiently and effectively
  • Overseeing and helping finance teams in compliance with Macquarie’s financial control framework and regulatory requirements and maintaining relationship with finance team leads to create awareness and provide any relevant insights on control framework
  • Assessing information security and associated risk exposures and proactively evaluating risks and internal controls against changing trends, market, economy, and business conditions.

To be successful in this role, you’ll require a tertiary qualification in relevant discipline and a degree in CA/ MBA - Finance. As well as 5+ years of post-qualification experience in audit or operational risk preferably within an accounting or financial services environment. You’ll demonstrate proven technical and analytical skills backed by attention to detail and sound judgement.

You’ll also have strong written and verbal communication skills, a strong sense of accountability and ownership, as well as an innovative mindset with a with a focus on improving processes to enhance efficiencies and add value. You’ll be comfortable working in a virtual global team and able to effectively manage a team with a strong work ethic and the ability to proactively understand client requirements.
