Product Governance Manager | Macquarie Asset Management

Become a key part of Macquarie Asset Management Public Investments business in Australia, in a newly created Product Governance Manager role. You will be a key member of the Sydney-based Central Product Support Team reporting to the Senior Manager, and work closely with product owners and other subject matter stakeholders across the business to deliver uplifts in governance and controls across Macquarie’s Australian funds platform. 

You will be the central regulatory and governance contact, focused on matters relating to regulatory change management, board governance, policy & process improvement, and a range of business initiatives.

Primary responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Own and be the lead subject matter expert for discretionary and mandatory change projects, representing the investment business and collaborating to bring effective implementation of changes
  • In collaboration with our legal and compliance teams, identify regulatory and other product-related changes with an impact on the fund products, and ensure necessary analysis and actions
  • Own and manage the DDO governance and obligations for the business to ensure adherence to the product design process and the potential for fund amendments
  • Cover responsible entity board and committee reporting on fund governance matters (for example: terminations, product changes, regulatory change initiatives, project updates)
  • Be the key contact for directors on fund-related issues
  • Develop and maintain central product policies and procedures (for example: product development, terminations, changes)
  • Assist in developing a central static fund data repository for use across the business
  • Own the annual responsible entity due diligence processes for our investment managers
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders across functions with effective management of stakeholder expectations around project requirements and delivery timeframes

Key requirements / Qualifications (essential unless stated)

  • Good working knowledge of the asset management industry, preferably with knowledge of the role of product management and best-practice governance relating to the fund life cycle
  • Strong understanding of regulatory obligations and recent regulatory changes including RG97 and DDO would be viewed favourably
  • Must be delivery focused and demonstrate the ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate high attention to detail
  • Analytical skills and strong project management capabilities, with ability to effectively prioritise between multiple actions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
