Manager/Senior Manager - Stress Testing, Banking & Financial Services Treasury

As a Manager/Senior Manager in Stress Testing, you will sit within the Banking and Financial Services Treasury function which is a part of wider Product & Technology Division. The Treasury team is responsible for Funding, Liquidity and Interest Rate Risk Management, Capital, Provisioning & Risk Modelling. 

Our team is also responsible for managing capital, forecasting provisions, conducting scenario analysis and net-zero initiatives for BFS.

Collaboration is what we do, and this role will give you the opportunity to promote real change within the organisation. Working closely with our product, prudential, credit, data teams and our central Risk Management and Financial Management Groups to lead and deliver risk modelling projects and initiatives.

You will be responsible for:

  • execution of stress tests and scenario analysis for ICAAP, RAS, APRA and other purposes
  • leading the development of statistical and quantitative models for stress testing, including high quality model documentation for Risk Management Group validation;
  • fostering collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders;
  • providing guidance to team members on better practice whilst promoting team development; and
  • assisting with project related work, either specific to capital and credit or as it affects risk within the wider business, some of which will be provided to the regulator.

You’ll be curious, always asking, “What’s new,” and “How can we do this better”, be bold and see challenges as opportunities that can be overcome as a team.

You will also bring:

  • experience in either end-to-end execution of stress testing, or development of credit risk models (IRB or IFRS9);
  • strong understanding of capital and provisions;
  • an advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Mathematics/Statistics, Actuary, Engineering, Computer Science);
  • drive, motivation and a learning mindset;
  • a highly numerate and analytical style;
  • strong communication skills and ability to communicate complex ideas to business leaders; and
