Naphtha Trading Analyst-- Commodities and Global Markets EMEA

We are seeking to hire a graduate or a recent graduate with {1-3 years’ experience} as an analyst to join our global Physical Oil business working with the front office in a fast-paced trading environment based in Geneva. The candidate should have a strong academic background, strong problem solving and analytical skills as well as the right to work in Switzerland.

As an analyst you will be responsible for tracking oil vessels, maintaining a database of naphtha facilities and maintaining/updating a supply and demand model. You will help traders run scenario analysis and deliver the results to the wider group. You will quickly develop proficiency in the use of Macquarie’s trading and analytics systems, which is a core competency of the role. The ability to accurately perform these tasks and effectively communicate the results is key. Helping the traders maintain and upgrade their spreadsheets and tools is also seen as a critical requirement for the role.

The candidate should demonstrate a keen interest in global markets (perhaps you have previous experience or have completed relevant internships) and good communication skills as the role will involve interaction with diverse teams across different regions as well as senior management. Advanced excel is essential, programming skills (specifically python) would be an advantage.  Otherwise we are open minded and encourage you to apply.

This is an incredible opportunity to work directly with the front desk, operations and risk teams across a global trading business. If it sounds exciting, please apply now.
