Commodities Credit and Origination Associate

Join our Commodities and Global Markets business as an Associate in our Commodities Financing origination team focused on Agricultural and Energy markets. Based in New York, you will join a team with an active commodity financing and trading presence in the Americas region.

You will join a hardworking, innovative, and entrepreneurial team in a dynamic market facing environment that offers a pathway to being a relationship manager expected to originate and structure new deals.

On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for analytical and credit related support in preparation of internal credit applications, executing and booking of physical commodity trades, portfolio monitoring activities and analysis required for annual client reviews, documentation review and relationship management. You will be required to perform trade support tasks, including transaction pricing and trade deal entry (utilizing risk management systems), trade reconciliations and ad-hoc tasks. You will need to demonstrate the ability to think independently to provide innovative products and solutions to existing and new clients and counterparties.

Our success is built upon delivery of a first-class service to our clients, and we do that by understanding their needs and delivering in a timely way and with accuracy. In this role, you will deal with various external and internal stakeholders across a range of areas including credit, syndications, principals, risk, legal, compliance, market participants and industry specialists. You will have frequent and direct exposure to client senior management as well as travel throughout the North Americas region including client meetings, conferences, and site visits.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferred in Commerce, Engineering, Mathematics or Science
  • 2-4 years of experience in a relevant banking position (Corporate Finance, Loan Management, Leveraged Finance, etc)
  • Drive and desire to contribute as part of a successful team
  • Experience in handling internal and external clients
  • Have strong MS Excel Skills
  • Interest in commodities and finance
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Have strong written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Have or interested in financial literacy including understanding of financial statements
