Internal Audit - Head of Methodology, Quality Assurance and Training (Associate Director)

This is an excellent career opportunity for an experienced audit professional to contribute to the strategic direction of the Macquarie internal audit team and quality of the work executed.

This role is located in Sydney, but we are open to considering candidates in other locations that are keen to relocate to Australia.

As the Head of Methodology, Quality Assurance and Training you will be responsible for the maintenance of the global internal audit methodology, oversee the quality assurance program and technical training for the department. These activities will be undertaken with a strong risk focused lens. You will have the opportunity to develop and coach the internal audit team on methodology changes and on the key development areas identified from the quality assurance reviews; working towards continuous improvement and shared success.

As an Associate Director you will lead a team of people and contribute to the Internal Audit Division workplace environment confirming that all staff feel valued, challenged, and encouraged to contribute and embrace continuous improvement. 

You will bring with you a strong background as a highly experienced, risk-focused audit professional with a financial services background.  You will have an ability to work with both the internal audit and other assurance teams across Macquarie, contributing to integrated assurance and methodology practices Group-wide which are clear, practical, non-bureaucratic and value adding.

Your excellent communication skills will be essential to success in this role, which include the ability to explain execution requirements, with the underlying risk-based rationale, and influence where required, whilst also maintaining a strong sense of empathy and ability to engage with all staff members across the audit team.
