Joining as a Senior Geologist in the Mining Finance team will see you actively involved in a range of financing facilities and investments. You’ll will help identify opportunities and review all technical aspects of projects .
Working closely with our own business and Risk teams, you will assess and review the quality of transactions as well as conducting due diligence, which will include preparing and presenting submissions to our senior management and Risk Management Group. With a strong client focus, you’ll need to build relationships with clients at all levels, be available to undertaking site visits and importantly, be forward-thinking, identifying new opportunities in the resources sector where our team of mining finance specialists can continue to build its business and existing strong market presence.
You’ll need to be a tertiary qualified Geologist with more than 7 years’ experience. You will have worked in the sector and have practical open-cut/ underground mine experience, specifically across hard rock mining: gold; zinc; copper, base metals, minerals (metalliferous) and bulk commodities. “Hands on” experience with resource estimation skills using geostatistical techniques will be essential as will technical and analytical skills, risk review and due diligence capabilities. We’re looking for an applicant who is commercially-minded, who is well-connected in the sector and remains focused on trends and future issues.
