Senior Analyst / Associate - Business Strategy and Operations - Commodities and Global Markets COO & Change Management


A great opportunity for an experienced, action-oriented professional to join Commodities and Global Markets Central division in a business strategy and operations capacity reporting to the ANZ COO.

In this role, you will help businesses and support teams navigate Commodities and Global Markets and will be accountable for executing operational and business management responsibilities relating to risk and regulatory obligations, governance, business resilience, management reporting and staff engagement, with a mindset of improving and streamlining activity where efficiencies are identified.

You will also play key roles in supporting Commodities and Global Markets’ Global COO to implement the Central division strategy and partner with Commodities and Global Markets’ Head of Training to develop and deliver a portfolio of Commodities and Global Markets-specific training requirements.

This role will involve working with stakeholders across Commodities and Global Markets businesses, Financial Management Group, Risk Management Group and Corporate Operations Group to deliver outcomes. Given the diverse and global nature of our businesses, you will also partner with other regional COO teams in our international hubs and Commodities and Global Markets’ divisional and business COO teams.

You will possess:

  • 3+ years’ experience in Operations, Finance, Technology or Risk Management
  • Proven stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Flexibility to multi-task and manage competing priorities
  • Ability to think critically and identify improvements to operational processes
  • Proven ability to problem-solve, drive solutions, and resolve issues, with a good understanding of when to escalate
  • A strong achievement drive and ability to work on your own and part of diverse teams
  • Degree-qualified, ideally in business/finance, project management or related subjects
  • Understanding of Global Markets businesses would be an advantage, but not essential
