A fantastic opportunity currently exists for a driven and thoughtful individual to join our dynamic Cash Equities Settlements team within the Market Operations Division of Macquarie based in Sydney.
The Equities Settlements team sit within the Market Operations Division and primarily support the Institutional Equites business at Macquarie. We are the interface between deal origination and post trade control. Working closely with a number of divisions within Macquarie, the primary focus is timely and accurate completion of daily settlements by adhering to robust compliance and risk controls.
In this role you will be responsible for settlement of Equity trades in the Australian markets via CHESS, using SYNANG (our Settlements System).
Working closely with other members of the team, you will be assessing and managing risk from the daily activity of the Equities trading desk. You will be responsible for monitoring stock positions required to meet market obligation and arranging RTGS payments and stock transfers for non DvP settled trades.
The role will see you liaising with our Middle Office team and external clients and custodians (both domestic and offshore) regarding booking and matching exceptions, as well as building direct relationships and liaising directly with Equities trading desk and senior management.
You will be driving the internal objective principals of Automate-Simplify-Innovate and will have input and autonomy to drive and improve operational robustness and risk reduction, and challenge existing processes using innovative mindset to question the status quo.
Key to your success will be your strong attention to detail, combined with a demonstrated ability to work well in under pressure, in a fast-paced environment. You would ideally have completed an undergraduate Degree in Commerce or a business-related area and possess exceptional communication and prioritisation skills.
Experience with CHESS or a background in VBA, SQL or Python would be an advantage.
