We are seeking a professional qualified Workplace Health Safety & Environment (WHSE) professional to help us deliver and develop our in-house WHSE program. The successful candidate will work with the business WHSE Leads and colleagues in Risk Management teams, while supporting deal teams in Asia & ANZ on all our assets and potential investments.
As our WHSE Regional Manager, you will be based in region (either Asia or Australia) and travel regionally to complete field audits, site visits and WHSE due diligence activities, working with transaction and asset management teams on potential new investments and investments in our portfolios
Your role will include the review of contract language, historical reports, liability estimating, and leading WHSE workstreams including the provision of Nominee Director WHSE training. Your scope will encompass potential new investments being considered and ongoing oversight and incident reporting of existing investments in our portfolio, assets in development, construction and operations. As part of the Environmental workstream your role will also include social considerations and factors such as performing assessments of Human Rights and Modern Slavery conditions of our existing and new investments.
Just as important as your knowledge of and experience in both Infrastructure and WHSE practices, will be your soft skills, flexibility and willingness to be out in the field, interacting with asset managers and the management of non-financial assets to implement WHSE action plans where appropriate.
You will have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in Health Safety & Environment, including a minimum of 5 years’ field experience onsite. You will have strong knowledge of HSE management systems, regulations, standards and best practices.
The role will report directly to the Infrastructure & Energy Capital’s WHSE Lead in EMEA region, who will also carry out visits to help assist and develop the successful candidate in their career progression, while also providing guidance on internal compliance and WHSE strategy.
To be successful in this role, you will be required to leverage your influencing skills, gaining stakeholder buy-in and trust when presenting findings and best-practice initiatives. You’ll also need to showcase your communication and relationship building skills, as you will need to work with clients across geographically diverse locations, a range of industries as well as levels of seniority
