An exciting opportunity has arisen to support Macquarie’s Banking and Financial Services Group through engagement with media and other external stakeholders.
Banking and Financial Services is Macquarie’s retail banking and financial services business and this business-aligned role, which sits within the central Corporate Affairs Division, is a key "go to" point for this groups three business divisions and their media and external communications requirements.
You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities and thrive on delivering quality output at speed. You will need outstanding stakeholder management skills, as you will work collaboratively across the Macquarie and Banking and Financial Services ecosystem.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing a day-to-day contact point for the businesses on media and issues management matters
- proactive media engagement to assist in the positioning and promotion of this groups businesses and products
- drafting materials, including media releases and briefing documents, to a high standard
- working on issues management activities, where required
- reviewing external materials to ensure risks are mitigated and quality upheld
- liaising with Macquarie’s central Corporate Affairs team to ensure a consistent and collaborative approach.
About you:
This role requires a practical and hands-on approach to media and external communications activities, and the ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a busy team environment. To be successful, you will have:
- A minimum of five years communications experience, ideally within financial or professional services
- strong written and verbal communication skills, and high attention to detail
- a collaborative work style as part of a busy team, while also working autonomously on key tasks
- outstanding judgement and stakeholder management skills
- a high level of professionalism and diplomacy
- the ability to think and react quickly as the situation requires
- enthusiasm, a keenness to learn and a results orientated approach to work.
