Join our Financial Risk technology team in building systems for Counterparty Credit Risk Assessment, which is a key function that supports all businesses across Macquarie Group. You will be part of a Scrum team that is currently working to deliver a new Credit Assessment workflow system to be used by credit analysts to derive credit ratings and credit limits for Macquarie’s customers. You will contribute to the team’s end-to-end delivery of new features, which involves discussing requirements with the Product Owner and users (credit analysts), collaborating with the technical lead and Product Owner on the system roadmap, contributing to the design and code for major features, providing technical guidance, and mentoring team members.
Day-to-day you will also lead by example by being involved in the coding of functionality, system testing, facilitating user acceptance testing, Production deployment, and Production support.
You will be working primarily with Angular for front-end web applications, Java for back-end services and APIs, and Sybase and MS SQL Server for databases. However, we are not limited to this technology stack and encourage our engineers to investigate new ideas, tools, and frameworks as part of building solutions.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- a solid foundation in computer science concepts (data structures, algorithms)
- expertise in Java development, particularly Spring Boot
- extensive RDBMS experience
- experience building and architecting applications on AWS
- a strong customer focus and a willingness to own the end-to-end delivery of features that provide business value
It would be a bonus if you also bring:
- experience with software testing at various levels – unit testing, system/integration testing, automated testing of web applications
- experience working with CI/CD pipelines
