Senior Analyst, Group Treasury - Banking & Financial Services

Do you enjoy complex problem solving and have an interest in understanding how a global financial services group operates? Are you curious and like to be challenged whilst learning new skills?

We are looking for an Executive to join the Group Treasury, in a team aligned to the Banking and Financial Services business. This newly created team has a broad mandate and is responsible for partnering with the retail banking business on the management of Banking & Financial Service’s balance sheet, as well as end to end liquidity and capital transformation initiatives.  The transformation initiatives will span multiple years, providing a challenging career opportunity with exposure to the multiple teams and senior management.  This includes operating model, process and infrastructure and will underpin key decisions Macquarie makes as core to our strategy of maintaining a strong and conservative balance sheet.

Within this role, you will:

  • Understand the current state activities and processes in liquidity management at Macquarie and business needs of various stakeholders now and in future
  • Design and build new tools to measure impacts, identify drivers and influence the direction of the project
  • Recommend enhancements, develop prototype solutions and ensure successful delivery of a range of short- to medium-term initiatives
  • Consolidate all learnings in a future state redesign and implementation factoring in a range of other strategic initiatives and pipeline
  • Advise on regulatory (APS 210) and internal liquidity assumptions and treatments for retail banking products and structures
  • Partner with other key internal stakeholder groups across Group Treasury, Financial Management Group and Risk Management Group in relation to liquidity and funding

Your technical skills and qualifications will include:

  • outstanding academic background in a financial or quantitative degree, e.g. actuarial, accounting, economics, engineering, mathematics
  • be curious, always asking, “What’s new,” and “How can we do this better”
  • be generous with your knowledge, time, and feedback
  • be bold, seeing challenges as opportunities that can be overcome as a team
  • strong numerical and analytical skills, coupled with an ability to understand and succinctly explain complex data sets and concepts
  • clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • you will be confident in interacting with stakeholders and resolving competing priorities
  • a high level of attention to detail and commercial acumen

The following experience will be viewed favourably:

    • Previous experience within a Treasury function with exposure to liquidity risk or similar
