The Internal Audit team at Macquarie is growing and we have several upcoming opportunities in this truly collaborative and global team.
The Team
Internal Audit is integral in providing independent assurance to senior management and the Board on the adequacy and effectiveness of Macquarie’s financial and risk management framework. You will be joining a highly capable and regarded global team, with opportunities to develop a deep understanding of Macquarie’s risk and control framework, diverse business lines, products, and technology.
A culture of collaboration and constructiveness means that you will be empowered and well supported to bring your ideas to fruition. Cross-skilling is promoted which will ensure that your skillset and knowledge is continuously being stretched and developed. Given we have teams across multiple global locations we highly encourage flexible working to ensure you have the right work/life balance.
The Opportunity
We are seeking passionate, dedicated professionals to join our growing Internal Audit team. We welcome applications from diverse backgrounds – while audit experience is an advantage, we also welcome applications where you have had practical business, risk and control experience, especially where you can demonstrate the value this will bring to an internal audit role.
We have opportunities in the following areas:
- Business auditors responsible for coverage of key business lines and support departments, specifically global markets and commodities; asset management; investment banking; retail and institutional banking; corporate operations and enterprise-wide business services.
- Technology auditors responsible for coverage of key technology platforms, systems and processes that drive our businesses.
- Subject matter experts in key enterprise risk areas such as change, third party risk and data management
- Audit innovation to define and implement data and technology-related solutions and associated processes, improving audit efficiency and effectiveness
- Roles are available at the following levels across all areas: analyst, senior analyst, manager and senior manager.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain a detailed understanding of Macquarie’s businesses and support functions and to add significant value in the management of their risk and controls. This will also require continuous engagement with senior stakeholders across all functions to fully understand the key risks, challenges and opportunities.
While we are primarily seeking candidates based in Australia for the above roles, we are willing to consider global candidates who will be based in offices in other countries. In specific cases, we are also willing to relocate candidates to Australia for these opportunities.
About You
You are an exceptional problem-solver who has the capacity to communicate with stakeholders of varying levels. You will have excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, but can concisely disseminate the key messages and issues to senior stakeholders. You will also have a good understanding of financial markets and ideally experience working in or for large financial institutions. Previous experience in an internal audit, external audit or risk and control role is highly advantageous but not a pre-requisite.
We will provide in-house training on our audit methodology. Bring with you a demonstrated proficiency in adding value in your prior roles and a willingness to understand our business, learn and develop.
