Senior Architect - Digital Transformation and Data

Melbourne, Sydney

We are seeking a high performing and versatile senior architect to join the Digital Transformation & Data architecture team.  We partner with groups across Macquarie to improve architecture outcomes across a wide variety of initiatives and move the needle on delivering the COG Strategy.

You will be responsible for consulting engagements with groups both inside and outside of COG.  You will work independently to assess how you can maximise your value, and to agree success criteria and measures for the engagement.  Some examples of the type of work you will get involved in include bringing together business and technology teams to define the strategic architecture for an area; collaborating across multiple technology teams to solve problems in an imaginative way; or guiding project teams to co-create architecture principles, solutions or road maps.  You will utilise your story-telling and communication skills to successfully link business and technology strategies, working closely with teams to uplift the architectural capability of the organisation through strong working relationships.

In this role, you will:

  • have experience across a wide variety of solution architecture engagements in multiple areas of business/technology
  • identify, qualify, and propose strategy, initiatives and solutions aligned with business outcomes
  • develop and communicate the customer outcomes for technical solutions
  • collaborate across different technology teams to ensure true end-to-end solutions
  • lead planning and prioritisation activities, coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of existing and target architectures.

To be successful you will have:

  • strong customer facing and presentation skills as well as proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • a detailed understanding of architecture, consultancy, and delivery methodologies
  • experience and understanding of technology practices, particularly across data and integration areas
  • a collaborative and proactive approach, with an ability to story-tell and communicate technical information to a non-technical audience
  • a willingness to challenge the status quo and influence to a senior level
  • a strong knowledge of the current/future state of industry technology solutions and trends.
