Analyst / Executive / Manager - Principal Investments - Specialised and Asset Finance - Commodities and Global Markets ANZ

As an investment professional in Specialised and Asset Finance’s Principal Investment team in Sydney, you will work in a fast-paced and unstructured environment across industries including mobility (including the battery and hydrogen electric vehicle segments), energy and sustainability, TMT and resources. Decarbonisation and sustainability are themes that underpin the strategies of Specialised and Asset Finance’s industry-focused teams.

Our flat team structure provides significant exposure and opportunities to take leadership on driving transactions and other workstreams.

You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of pipeline buyside transactions as principal investor (venture and growth equity), as well as assist with capital raising and opportunistic divestitures.

You will have responsibility for:

  • complex financial modelling, preparing company valuation and benchmarking analyses, as well as the preparation of sector and market research, and assisting with the management of portfolio companies;
  • supporting Specialised and Asset Finance’s businesses to manage transaction due diligence processes;
  • assisting with the coordination of transaction workstreams; and
  • preparing presentations, investment memos and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.

  • possess a deep and thorough understanding of corporate finance, financial statements and accounting
  • have 1-4 years of experience in the investment banking industry, private equity or corporate development, or 2-4 years of transaction advisory experience (i.e., transaction services, M&A consulting)
  • have a tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, economics or a related discipline with excellent academic results. A combined law qualification will be considered favourably
