Join our Green Investment Group as a highly motivated Chief Financial Officer to help the Group support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy. This is a London-based role, but with the option to be based in another location with frequent travel to London. Initially, you will work in the Energy Technology team supporting the Senior Vice President in the development of the e-mobility business. Ultimately, it is envisaged that this role will transfer in to a dedicated EV platform business at which point, as Head of Finance & Structuring, you will be directly responsible for the financial structuring of multi-million pound electric vehicle charging infrastructure and service contracts for private and public sector clients (UK and Europe).
Reporting to the Senior Vice President / CEO, you will play a leading role in evaluating the profitability of potential infrastructure projects and developing efficient and appropriate financial structures. You will support the Commercial Director and wider bid teams in developing the financial elements of bids and will monitor and report on the financial KPIs on the projects once live. Further to the project and business development work you will support the CEO in tracking the overall business performance providing high quality reports and offering solutions and insights to facilitate the company’s growth.
In your role as CFO, you will interface with wider internal teams, clients, partners, suppliers and consultancies and will be expected to be an ambassador for the business during any external engagement. You will be responsible for devising appropriate financial structures which abide by local and international accounting practices but deliver against the business strategy and meet the client’s needs. At times this will require you to think creatively and to develop novel approaches. You will be responsible for identifying suitable sources of funding for projects and investments and managing the internal investment approvals processes. You will support the technical and operational teams in developing budgets and provide expenditure oversight, ensuring margin expectations are met.
For success in this role, you will have a strong financial background with experience of project and asset financing. You will have excellent knowledge of accounting and contracting practices across multiple jurisdictions and how to structure projects and businesses to ensure financial efficiency and profitability. You will have experience of working in a regulated business and/or role and be capable of establishing good governance and oversight from first principles. You will have a strong track record of securing multi-million pound contracts from both the private and public sector and through direct contracts and competitive tenders. You will be capable of working as part of a commercial team negotiating complex commercial deals. The successful candidate is expected to have significant experience in e-mobility fleets, infrastructure and services sector. Experience of working in the energy sector and large infrastructure projects for both public and private sector clients is also welcome.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in European markets and associated language skills are highly regarded.
Transfer within EV Business
We anticipate that in 2022 your employment may transfer to the company which is being incorporated to house GIG’s European EV Platform, along with other employees of the Employer who are assigned to that business. The Employer will provide information to you regarding the terms of that transfer in due course.
