Junior Cloud Engineer


In this Junior Engineering role based in our Philadelphia office, you will work in Macquarie Asset Management's cloud team, and interact with a strong network of developers and engineers.

This is a unique opportunity to be able to contribute and grow foundational Cloud and DevOps skills across a diverse technology stack and architectures. The focus of this role is to deliver end-to-end solutions for automation and cloud enablement. 

In this role you will be required to:

  • Develop and deploy solutions with a view of automation and process improvement
  • identify / implement performance and reliability improvements within production environment
  • engage with stakeholders to deliver on projects of varying complexity
  • document and maintain solutions and procedures as they are established
  • perform Site Reliability Engineering for key services.

You will be a valued member of our team if you are a self-motivated team player and have excellent communication skills, enabling you to engage with all levels of stakeholders. Ideally to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Strong engineering skills, and a learning mindset
  • strong knowledge of DVCS (git)
  • understanding of producing & consuming APIs
  • ability to break down a problem and troubleshoot
  • proficiency in at least one of the following languages Python, Go, Ruby.
  • knowledge of CI/CD and pipelines helpful
  • some foundational knowledge of Linux and basic networking
  • comfortable on the command line, and scripting
