Data Delivery Manager


An exciting opportunity exists for you to utilise your experience as a Technical Business Analyst or Data Delivery specilalist in a newly created role within Macquarie Capital. As the Data Delivery Manager, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders across Macquarie's Capital’s global divisions, regions and businesses to help our Group Data Office to build industry-leading data, analytics and reporting solutions.

What impact will you have?

As the Data Delivery Manager, your primary responsibility will be working with Macquarie Capital stakeholders to produce data requirements for reporting systems. You will also support in end-to-end project execution and coordination, including development, issue data analysis, testing, implementation and on-going support for solutions delivered. Reporting to the Data Platform Product Owner, this is a unique opportunity to join a growing team with a diverse book of work and exciting opportunities for progression.

This role is unique as it allows you to leverage your technical Data skill-set to solve interesting problems and deliver market-leading solutions. Day to day, you will work at the inter-face of Business, Technology and Data teams and will be responsible for:

  • Bridging the gap between business, data partners and development teams
  • Partnering with stakeholders to review scope and understand business requirements for end user product in order to create functional end -to -end solution
  • Working with Data Architect and Engineering BA to help create data hub end to end solution across Data Hub on-boarding projects
  • Translating reporting and data analytics requirements into underlying data sourcing acquisitions, data aggregations, transformation and matching rules
  • Facilitating sessions for MacCap data projects – document meeting notes, issues, risks and independently follow up till resolved
  • Supporting end to end project execution while facilitating data governance throughout the process​
  • Preparing deliverables such as data flow diagrams, data requirements, detailed test cases for UAT
  • Providing support to global data team in triage and root cause analysis of data quality issues and incidents
  • Progressively taking a lead in supporting Regional data work, data governance, Data in Projects, documenting business and data definitions, critical data elements, metadata management, and data quality issue management.

What skills will you use?

To be successful in the role, you will bring with you 5-10 years of functional experience in data-driven projects in the Financial Services sector and proven ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels. Previous data technology and data analyst experience and an ability to drive projects and initiatives independently would be beneficial. Other relevant skills and experience may include:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, an interest in solving interesting and complex problems
  • Experience with financial terminology or financial performance and accounting data - familiarity with balance sheet, general ledger and journal concept would be advantageous
  • Experience with business intelligence, Relational database, data warehousing, big data (Hadoop) eco system
  • SQL , data profiling, entity relationship
  • Data modeling concepts
  • Knowledge of data governance processes and tools and data risk management
