Executive/Assistant Manager- Functional Business Analyst

Opportunity for a Business Analyst with experience in financial services to join our Global Finance Services arm. In this role you’ll have plenty of opportunities to use your initiative as you’ll play a pivotal role in testing and delivering the initial transition of Business As Usual (BAU) support and data validation to our platforms team, and subsequently improve processes and enhance the scope of the team’s service offering.

 

As part of our diverse and supportive team you’ll be responsible for driving BAU change for finance specifically related to balance sheet reporting Economic and Financial Statistics (EFS) and also manage the system for Regulatory Reporting (Axiom). You’ll work on the regulatory requirements such as gap analysis, creating BRDs, supporting the development, testing, and review. You’ll also be responsible for the data validation process including management of change requests, updates to rule logic and release management and get to use your SQL skills to deliver ad-hoc reporting to key stakeholders. You’ll also be providing user testing support and results analysis for both ongoing change programs and scheduled code releases. You’ll manage the Data Warehouse/Regulatory control framework ensuring documentation keeps pace with change in the system environment and help Identify opportunities to improve processes while also acting as bridge between IT and Business and ensuring IT deliverables reflect the business needs.

 

To be successful in this role you will have a degree qualification in either Finance (MBA) or Information Technology with minimum 4-6 years of post-qualification experience. Previous experience in the Financial Services industry is essential, with a background in regulatory reporting. You’ll have strong analytical and problem-solving skills along with strong regulatory knowledge, with some insight on credit risk and different products. Strong knowledge of SQL and relational databases would also be required and financial instruments and product knowledge would be preferable. You’ll have excellent communication skills as the role will involve interaction with clients and colleagues at various levels and engaging senior stakeholders. You’ll have the ability and self-confidence to work independently - initially in establishing a new service line, and over time in increasing the scope of the service line. You’ll also bring strong MS Office skills; particularly Excel. Some exposure to process improvement and project management methodologies is preferred and an ability to investigate business issues and identify technical root causes will also serve you well.
