Join the Equity Capital Markets team in New York as an Associate.

As an Associate, you will work closely with public and private companies, as well as financial sponsors to originate, structure, and execute equity financings such as initial public offerings, follow-on offerings, block trades, convertibles and derivatives, by identifying their capital needs and determining the optimal structure and execution strategy to meet the issuer’s objectives most effectively.

Macquarie Capital provides advisory and capital raising services to corporate and government clients involved in public mergers and acquisitions, private treaty acquisitions and divestments, debt and equity fund raising and corporate restructuring. It also undertakes principal investing activities globally in support of its client activities. Advisory activities are divided into industry groups, reflecting key areas of expertise. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Identifying potential equity issuers and new equity capital raising opportunities by corporate clients, preparing pitch presentations for new and existing clients on topics that include the common stock issuance, equity-linked alternatives, carve-outs/spin-offs, capital management, dividend strategy and share repurchases.
  • Interpreting and presenting daily equity market trends for clients; performing offering size analyses, equity valuation and investor targeting of potential institutional buyers; analyzing comparable companies, precedent equity transactions and institutional cross ownership; and preparing the term sheet for a potential equity transaction.
  • Participating in the drafting of the prospectus and company due diligence, preparation of roadshow schedules and presentations, collecting investor feedback, and development of equity pricing materials
  • Coordinating with deal team members across various groups within the investment bank, including mergers and acquisitions, legal, risk management, and compliance. Regular interactions with lawyers and other members of the underwriting syndicate will be expected in your role.
  • Managing junior bankers in day-to-day tasks and projects within the team.

To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Three years or more experience working in Equity Capital Markets or the investment banking industry (with a bachelor’s degree) or over one year experience working in Equity Capital Markets or the investment banking industry (with a MBA)
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform quantitative and financial modeling for structuring of equity transactions using balance sheet, income statement, public comparables, transaction comparables analyses and buy-side investor analysis
  • Strong interest in macro-economic market trends and themes, and ability to interpret them into actionable ideas for clients
  • Knowledge of industry and market sectors to facilitate origination and pitching of equity transactions including initial public offerings, follow-on offerings and SPACs
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Knowledge of and experience with sophisticated software and analytical tools such as Bloomberg, FactSet and Dealogic to conduct advanced analysis and research for clients
