M&A Associate/Senior Associate, Corporate Development

As an investment professional in the Corporate Development team, you will work with an experienced team on the execution of strategic mergers & acquisitions, investments and partnerships. Associates and Senior Associates have primary responsibility for transaction execution, financial modelling, underwriting, and diligence of transactions as well as mentoring our junior team.  In addition to transaction responsibilities, investment professionals will also perform ad-hoc in-depth research tasks related to broader strategic initiatives such as acquisition/investment theses, new products and business line development. The team has recently completed acquisitions in the securities investment management, private markets and real estate asset management sectors and also a number of technology investments. The Corporate Development team sits organizationally within Macquarie Asset Management’s Strategic Solutions Group, alongside our Secondaries, Insurance Solutions and Wealth Solutions teams.

Leveraging 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in the investment banking industry, private equity, equities research or corporate development you will play a key role in the ongoing success of the team. Prior sector experience in FIG or asset management will be considered favorably in connection with applications. Our team values entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment. A Bachelor's degree is required for this role and majors in mathematics / economics / finance or quantitative fields are preferred.

Macquarie Asset Management’s Strategic Solutions provides innovative solutions to Macquarie Asset Management and external clients that meet the needs of changing investor demands and industry changes. It consists of four key teams currently:

  • Corporate Development – responsible for strategic growth of Macquarie Asset Management through inorganic initiatives (acquisitions, investments and partnerships) and new Macquarie Asset Management business or product initiatives.
