Internal Sales Consultant

Join Macquarie Investment Management in our Global Headquarters as an Internal Sales Consultant (IC).  You'll engage with our clients (financial advisors) through virtual meetings, phone calls, and digital communication regarding our mutual fund and separate accounts product suite.

You will also analyze industry data to build a business plan in partnership with your Regional Director (RD) so that you can achieve sales goals for the territories you cover.  You'll use your strong communication, market-knowledge, and data skills to build relationships with clients, wholesalers and others within Macquarie and work as a member of a talented distribution team to see that all client service issues are brought to a resolution.

As our Internal Sales Consultant, your key responsibilities will include: 

  • implementing tactical strategies through the use of data in partnership with your RDs to increase sales, prepare weekly action plans, retain assets, and cultivate new clients
  • working as part of a team (RD and IC) and developing strong sales acumen to meet and surpass sales and activity goals for the region
  • analyzing data from multiple sources to segment clients and formulate a successful sales outreach strategy
  • obtaining virtual meeting appointments with financial advisors to conduct a sales, value-add, or portfolio manager presentation
  • consulting with advisors to understand needs and cross selling products
  • developing and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of financial markets, Macquarie products and services and the competitive landscape;  discussing the array of products across all disciplines (fund objectives, portfolio structures, investment management process and strategy benchmarks)
  • sharing thoughtful sales ideas with a team of ICs and RDs based on current initiatives
  • building an understanding of key broker dealers including products, platforms, structure and initiatives
  • maintaining and updating the Client Relationship Management system (Salesforce) for all advisor client activities in designated territories
  • fielding inbound calls from partners and advisor clients regarding product questions
  • 5-10% travel with RD or to cover for your RD to help present our products and services;  represent Delaware Investments at various regional meetings and conferences
  • ensuring compliance with internal and external rules, policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements

Preferred Background:

  • bachelor's degree
  • series 7 and 66 (or 7, 63 and 65) licenses preferred or willingness to obtain within six months.
  • financial services and product experience
  • knowledge of virtual meeting platforms
  • experience with analyzing data to create a business plan
