Work Health & Safety (WHS) Manager - Metro Martin Place

Sydney

Reporting to the Safety Director, you will work closely with our stakeholders and project team to achieve our safety vision and foster a positive safety culture.

Your key responsibilities as our Workplace Health and Safety manager will include:

  • promote and manage programs and activities to build awareness and understanding of health and safety
  • oversee the implementation and continual improvement of WHS frameworks and plans
  • support the achievement of safe outcomes during design, planning and construction phases
  • coordinate Macquarie’s WHS assurance program and activities and undertake regular contractor assurance and monitoring activities
  • interact with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including regularly with contractors, client and consultants
  • develop and implement effective risk management programs, and participate and facilitate workshops and forums to develop WHS strategies
  • review WHS performance, facilitate lessons and insights to continually improve WHS performance
  • work autonomously with our project team and stakeholders
  • identify and share organisational and industry leading practice.

To succeed, you’ll need to bring the following experience and skills:

  • 10 years plus experience in WHS management preferably with commercial building and infrastructure experience
  • experience working in environments with complex stakeholder arrangements
  • post tertiary diploma level qualification or above preferred
  • a forward thinking approach to safety and behavioural transformation
  • solution focussed, fostering new ideas and initiatives
  • energetic and passionate
  • excellent communicator, listener and team player
  • attention to detail, critical thinker, analyser and report writing.
