Data Lead, Financial Management Group

If you are passionate about the value of Data and improving business processes, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to lead an experienced team of data business analysts with a strong mandate to enhance our Data capabilities.

As the face of Macquarie’s Corporate Data Warehouse, our team works with Finance, Tax, Treasury and Risk functions to help define data requirements, source data from across Macquarie’s operations, and partner with technology and engineering teams to implement data and reporting solutions across a wide range of use cases. Team members have detailed knowledge of our businesses and data assets and are often embedded in projects that require new data for enterprise risk and reporting platforms.

You will use your knowledge of data warehousing, risk and reporting platforms to lead data change at scale, across multiple initiatives, in a complex global business. Your stakeholders will include senior leaders across business and technology roles. Within the team, you will coach and apply a range of techniques to capture business data requirements, understand data flows and entity relationships, illustrate system context, and bring this all together to deliver outstanding results for our customers.

Early success measures will include making existing data assets more discoverable across the Financial Management Group, improving our ability to plan the delivery of data change, managing the quality and consistency of Data change delivery, and validating that our work supports critical business outcomes.

Ideally you have financial services experience and knowledge of big data platforms such as AWS / Cloudera and visualisation tools like PowerBI. Our team is well supported by experts including Data Modelling, Architecture, Projects and Change and Learning and Development – all aligned to support our data driven strategy. Your strong communication ability, well developed organisation skills and willingness to take ownership of delivery will ensure your success.
