Project Manager, Macquarie Capital Business Management

Macquarie Capital’s Business Management team is looking for you to join as a project manager to drive the delivery of a number of key operational and process improvement initiatives across the business. This role will bring structure to the delivery of a range of operational, facilities and efficiency-focused projects of varying size and scope. The purpose of this highly visible role is to increase velocity of change within these areas, providing the opportunity to drive tangible results in a rapidly growing organization.

In this role, you will create structured project plans, timelines and budgets to implement key initiatives across the portfolio. You will be responsible for communicating progress to senior management and managing change within the business. You will lead project teams, driving accountability of team members to ensure comprehensive and timely completion of responsibilities. You will be positioned as the key point of contact across the project portfolio and will be accountable for driving positive outcomes. There is also potential to take on generalist business management responsibilities as capacity and business needs allow. Examples of projects within the portfolio include:

  • Operational efficiency – Redesign of corporate card payment and approval process.
  • Workplace improvement – Management of facilities project portfolio across Americas offices in conjunction with corporate real estate team.
  • Automation & optimization – Market review of available technology tools and internal/external resources to optimize junior banker workflows.
  • Data-based decision support - Redesign of market data approval communications to provide enhanced decision support to management across portfolio.

To be successful in this role, you will be a self-starter with drive to overcome obstacles and deliver results. Your natural inclination is to take a structured approach, and you possess superior organizational and multitasking skills to balance workflows across multiple projects simultaneously. Your communication skills are unparalleled, and you can confidently influence cross-functional teams across all levels to drive initiatives to completion. You should be comfortable with both digging into the detail and articulating impacts and outcomes. Strong quantitative/analytical skills are also essential in assessing and communicating the financial impact of recommendations.

To be considered, you will need 3 – 7 years of project management or management consulting experience, preferably within a professional services organization or financial institution.
