Vice President ,Commodities & Global Markets (Financial Control)
The Financial Control (FC) function is part of Macquarie Finance Management Group (FMG) and focused on the financial control of Macquarie Group and Non-Group entities across the various businesses.
This Financial Control role is for CGM (Commodities & Global Markets) division of the bank which provides clients with an integrated, end-to-end offering across global markets including equities, fixed income, foreign exchange and commodities. The platform covers more than 25 markets and over 160 products, and has evolved over more than three decades to provide clients with access to markets, financing, financial hedging, research and market analysis, and physical execution.
About the role
Vice Presidents in the FC team play a pivotal role in the overall financial control management. You would be leading a team and are expected to act as the financial controller of the business you are assigned to.
The role requires strong technical skill sets on IFRS based financial accounting and reporting, along with ability to translate commercial business transactions to the correct accounting treatment followed up by adequate and appropriate substantiation of the balances.
It will require a critical mindset, willingness to learn and set the bar high for self and the team. It will mean a strong sense of risk awareness and constant focus on controls
You will be expected to have extensive engagement with Business teams & various stakeholders (including Product Control, External Reporting, Regulatory Reporting, Tax, Financial Planning & Analysis and Group Treasury). You need demonstrate good communication and presentation skills; along with the capability to independently deal with and resolve issues with appropriate escalation
