Project Developer, Offshore Wind

This is an exciting opportunity for junior developer to join Corio Generations offshore wind projects team and support the development of offshore wind farm projects in Brazil.

Corio is a specialist offshore wind company which is wholly owned by Macquarie's Green Investment Group and was launched in April 2022. It has a development portfolio of more than 20 gigawatts of offshore wind projects globally. This role would be focused on our portfolio of projects in Brazil which includes 5 projects in 3 regions which have a combined capacity of over 5GW.

As a key member of the team, you will play an important role in the planning, development and delivery of the project.  You will work in support of the Project Managers on consents, stakeholder and project design activities and help to coordinate internal reviews and approvals as the project progresses. The role is intended to give you broad exposure to the activities that are relevant to the development and delivery of an offshore wind farm and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your career in an entrepreneurial setting with the ability to add real value to our business.

You could be supporting projects at various stages of development, design, delivery and operations.  You will gain exposure to various elements of the projects as they develop, including involvement in stakeholder meetings, contributing ideas and helping support and deliver outcomes. You will provide inputs to help timely decision making and problem solving, and prepare reports for senior management, internal and external presentations and other related materials.

The team places a high priority on workplace health, safety and environmental matters in all aspects of work undertaken.  Management of health and safety standards and overseeing and managing effective implementation of health and safety plans is critical to the success of our projects.  Meeting environmental standards is also crucial to the success of our projects, and is a key area of focus for the team. 

You will have an excellent academic record and a bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical or structural engineering, law, geology, environmental science or a project management related qualification. You will have 2-3 years of experience as a minimum in project development, preferably renewables.

You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise at all levels. You will need to be ambitious, motivated and have the drive to succeed.  Being a team player, in addition to having strong quantitative and analytical skills will be crucial to your success. Strong written and verbal skills in both English are also required.

  • Coordinate procurement activities
  • Manage contractors
  • Maintain budgets and schedules
  • Manage work to be delivered in accordance with budgets and schedules
  • Stakeholder consultation and activities relevant to the stakeholder engagement plan
  • Prepare information to support planning applications and manage planning application processes
  • Coordinate environmental research, monitoring and analysis works required for project development
  • Coordinate development of the project design (GIS proficient is a plus but not required)
  • Support internal reporting and approvals processes
  • Manage the project website
