Governance & Risk Analyst


As a Governance and Risk Analyst, you will help deliver a sustainable and impartial risk, governance, and assurance oversight service across all services teams in COG Technology's Infrastructure & Personal Technology for both internally supported, and vendor supported services.


In this position you will focus on the consolidation, simplification and automation of controls assurance primarily in addition to other activities.
You will be asked to investigate and determine targeted solutions on aspects of failure demand.
These tasks include:

  • risk management, supporting services and teams managing issues and actions to ensure successful delivery of the service portfolio
  • stakeholder engagement with the ability to collaborate and coordinate with technology stakeholders across the organisation and their suppliers
  • service management and assurance type activities managing compliance and supplementing support teams in their engagements
  • data analysis with the ability to review and improve workflows, reporting, processes and reduce waste
  • effective communication and coaching with stakeholders at director levels including technology leadership teams.

Experience & Skills

To be successful in this role you will need experience in:

  • experience of processes and workflows based on NIST, COBIT, and ITIL, you'll work with teams to test and develop the operational effectiveness of their controls

  • With an investigative and learning mindset, you will research and develop solutions for risk and controls related issues

  • You will liaise with internal stakeholders to understand complex systems, looking for opportunities for automation.

  • You will work with Developers to embed changes back into process and tooling

  • You will work closely with people from risk and controls assurance to help provide oversight for Dev-Ops teams

  • As an effective communicator, you’ll engage with technology stakeholders across senior levels and coach them through how to effectively manage risk and controls within their teams while carrying out interim checks (including internal testing) on all responses (Open Page Actions) and current workflows (BAU/delivery).
