Senior Manager, Risk Governance

Are you an experienced risk governance expert looking to contribute to the uplift of risk frameworks in a leading global organisation?

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager to join a new and dynamic team within the Risk Governance function, with oversight for the minimum standards in relation to Macquarie’s material risk frameworks.

This role will support the lead for a newly established function to continue to develop, implement and embed a Group wide framework that sets the minimum standards in relation to risk framework ownership and stewardship across Macquarie.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead the day-to-day co-design and drafting of a new Material Risk Governance Framework, including underlying principles, roles and responsibilities and related processes\
  • Be a part of the evolving risk governance division changes and improvements
  • Pilot the framework with representatives across the 3LOD to ensure practicality and fit for purpose
  • Design and execute on the approach to implementing and embedding the framework and related uplift for Risk Framework Owners
  • Provide advice and subject matter expertise on all aspects on the Risk Governance Standard to a range of stakeholders across the 3LOD
  • Manage the work of a small team day to day (as required)

The successful candidate will have:

  • Strong knowledge and experience with risk governance and risk frameworks
  • Understanding of core risk management practices across the 3LOD
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven experience in policy and/or framework drafting experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with risk governance practices and risk taxonomies  
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • An open and inquisitive mindset
  • Sound stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proven track record of delivery, and the ability to operate with a significant degree of autonomy
  • Experience working with global financial institutions.

You will be flexible, proactive and organised as you will need to be able to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. This role will operate as part of a broader Program of work, so familiarity with project and programs is highly desirable.
