Manager - Financial Crime Risk, Retail Advisory


An excellent opportunity for an experienced Financial Crime professional to join as a valued member of our Financial Crime Risk team focused on the retail businesses within the Macquarie Group across Australia.

As a member of the Australian Retail Advisory team, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing subject matter expertise on compliance requirements and Macquarie’s Financial Crime policies relating to AML/CTF, Sanctions and AB&C
  • Completing investigations and customer due diligence queries relating to AML/CTF and Sanctions, with a particular focus on higher risk customers
  • Liaising with a variety of stakeholders including Line 1 financial crime teams, business representatives and industry peers
  • Use your analytical skills to prepare and submit reports and extract, understand, and interpret data and communicate this to the business and financial crime staff.

Financial Crime Risk, within Macquarie’s Risk Management Group, drives a high and consistent level of compliance, advancing Macquarie's global financial crime risk management program.  The team is responsible for AML/CTF, Anti Bribery & Corruption (AB&C) and sanctions risk management for bank and non-bank activities. 

To be successful, you will have financial crime risk experience from within a retail banking organisation with exposure across multiple products. You will also have:

  • Strong writing, presentation and verbal communication skills to inform or influence specific audiences
  • The ability to multi-task priorities, manage deadlines and pick up new ideas and concepts quickly
  • An inquiring mind
  • Understanding of the financial services industry and the regulatory environment
  • Methodical approach with high attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
