Manager, Group Corporate Development

Join our Group Corporate Development team as an Executive/Manager working in the Financial Management Group under the CFO. The Group Corporate Development team is part of the Group Treasury Transactions team within Financial Management Group.  The team works with the CEO, CFO and Macquarie's businesses to bring a Group perspective to the identification, analysis and execution of key strategic decisions such as acquisitions, divestments, alliances and the creation of new businesses.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for:

  • bespoke evaluation of strategic opportunities across a diverse range of sectors and geographies, both at Group level and in direct collaboration with Macquarie’s businesses
  • performance of market and industry research including detailed review of businesses and markets
  • assessing the performance of Macquarie’s businesses – providing insightful, timely, and commercially astute analysis on business returns, valuation, outlook and competitive positioning to Senior Management

The role provides a unique opportunity to:

About you

We are seeking highly motivated and curious professionals with 2-5 years of financial/analytical experience in an investment banking, corporate finance, equity research, management consulting, or corporate development role.

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring the following:

  • strong quantitative and analytical skills, including building spreadsheet models, utilising valuation techniques, and sourcing and manipulating data
  • an excellent understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and accounting fundamentals
  • a strong work ethic with a proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output-focused, and dynamic environment
  • strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills – with a demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders
  • ability to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

The Financial Management Group is lead by the CFO and provides strategy, financial, tax, treasury and corporate affairs services to all areas of Macquarie. The group is focused on providing strategic analysis and advice to Macquarie's businesses and senior management, managing Macquarie's funding, liquidity and capital position, ensuring Macquarie continues to meet regulatory and compliance obligations and managing Macquarie's corporate affairs.
