Sales Assistant

Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) is a full-service securities business that specialises in:

  • Institutional and corporate stockbroking
  • Equities research
  • Equity-linked investment, trading and risk management products
  • Services for hedge funds including market access, leverage, stock-borrowing and execution
  • Stock-borrowing and lending
  • Structured equity finance

In this role, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Manage marketing roadshow events (Corporate and Analyst)
  • Build roadshow itineraries, prepare presentations, communicate with Marketing Team
  • Open and maintain Retail & Employee trading accounts (ensure document completeness and all processes/transactions dealing with these accounts)
  • Manage and maintain salespersons appointment diaries
  • All word processing completed with accuracy and high standard of presentation, including proof reading
  • Efficiently and professionally manage telephone traffic
  • Arrange travel bookings for the Sales and Trading teams, with attention to cost considerations
  • Prepare expense reimbursements for the team (AMEX and Cash)
  • Assist document management with scanning and storing of files
  • Record and submit leave requests, benefit submissions for S&T team
  • Book meeting rooms as requested
  • Order stationery and business cards as required

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • 1-2 years proven experience in a similar role (Institutional Desk or Retail Experience)
  • CSC and CPH (Licensed) or working towards, a definite asset
  • Post-secondary education
  • Familiarity with process to open and maintain trading accounts
  • Ability to work well under pressure and exercise appropriate judgement, especially when handling confidential information
  • Comprehensive PC skills, including Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Organized and able to multitask
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Professional presentation
  • Flexibility to work for several people and willingness to work longer hours when required
  • Familiarity with expense management
