Cage Administrator-6 Month Contract


The Cage Administrator is accountable for the overall daily tasks within the Securities Cage and successful completion of all Corporate Action events.


  • Accurately identify and communicate all relevant corporate action information in a timely manner
  • Tendering: receive, tabulate and tender the client responses to corporate action events that have options available, within a defined expiry deadline
  • Processing: ensure corporate action events are processing in a timely and accurate manner taking into consideration legal restrictions, residency issues and tax implications.
  • Provide the appropriate oversight/control to mitigate the high level of risk associated with voluntary corporate action events
  • Maintain full knowledge & understanding of external development, market conditions & their impact on Corporate Actions
  • Exchange date-legend securities
  • Create an open, honest, diverse and supportive work environment.
  • Communicate actively with branches, transfer agents and depositories
  • Cross train in Securities Cage as directed by Management. Securities Cage includes trade settlements, stock transfers, account transfers and banking.
  • User acceptance testing for system upgrades
  • Reconcile monthly GIC files
  • Perform other duties as required



  • University or College degree
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in brokerage industry operations.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of multi-tasking and having the ability to make quick decisions in a fast paced, time-sensitive, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills


 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Work within time constraints and policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of Dataphile, CDS and DTC is an asset
