Solutions Designer- Toronto- PERM

The Solutions Designer role is within the Technology Division, a team dedicated to meeting the technology needs of the Banking and Financial Services Group in Canada. The Banking and Financial Services Group is a market leader in retail financial services excelling in the provision of holistic wealth management, portfolio management and stock broking services.

Our team is continuing to grow to accommodate increasing business activity in North America, Asia, and Europe. The team is staffed with client-focused, dynamic, highly motivated and achieving individuals looking for a challenge and opportunities to further enhance and develop skills and our knowledge capital. We are seeking an experienced Solutions Designer who will be excited by this challenge to:

Accountabilities:

•  Contribute to the delivery of IT projects in the Retail Wealth Management area as the subject matter expert for technical solutions

•  Complete project deliverables, including functional and technical design, test plans, operational handover documents and provide support to developers and testers

•  Work closely with a team of project managers, business analysts, developers, testers, architect and IT infrastructure teams for all phases of project delivery

•  Adhere to project delivery methodologies

•  Escalate technical risks and issues to the Project Manager as required

•  Liaise with technology vendors across applications and service providers to support project delivery and operation requirements

•  Ensure that common processes and support issues are documented and knowledge transferred to the support team

•  Maintain an awareness of new technologies that are available to better serve business needs and contribute to their strategy implementation

•  Continually enhance skills and build knowledge in the Wealth Management field

Qualifications:

•  At least 5 years technical experience in the Retail Wealth Management area

•  Strong technical experience, preferably with development or operational background.

•  Knowledge of, or direct experience with:

•  SQL for enterprise databases (e.g SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase or equivalent),

•  Data mapping activities

•  Knowledge/experience with key infrastructure components e.g networking, database, server (Windows/Unix)

•  Strong documentation and communication skills

•  Ability to build strong relationships with business and IT stakeholders

•  Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic and results-driven environment

•  Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

•  Knowledge of Retail Wealth Management systems in Back-Office essential, and Trading and Portfolio Management highly regarded

•  Computer degree essential

•  ITIL v3 exposure
