To support its growth in North America, Macquarie Financial Limited's Mortgage team is seeking a results-driven individual to assume the position of Business Development Manager in their Toronto office
Reporting directly to the Ontario Regional Sales Manager, the successful candidate will have full responsibility for the development, growth and management of the broker relationships within their respective area with full accountability for the delivery of sales and profit growth that is consistent with the overall goals and objectives of the Broker Distribution Channel.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Daily accountability for the performance of their respective broker relationships;
Ø Execution of agreed strategy with particular emphasis on Co-Brand and Top 100 relationships;
Ø Deliver upon agreed annual sales targets;
Ø Recruitment and continuous performance development of broker relationships in accordance with agreed portfolio objectives;
Ø Develop - with Regional Sales Manager - and implement an annual Sales Plan (with monthly reviews) for each: Broker Relationship, all Tier 4 Brokers within region, and key Broker House relationships including Co-Brands and strategic partners within the Region;
Ø Account management utilising the Sales Diagnostic model;
Ø Develop and execute the sales plan for the development and growth of the BDM's respective area consistent with the overall strategic plan for the Region;
Ø Execute and drive a service culture that exceeds the needs of a diverse range of clients across assigned Region;
Ø Respond to a sales coaching model to support sales effectiveness and continual feedback loop on performance;
Ø Source, develop and implement both new and existing Broker House relationships that are consistent with the strategic intent and value proposition of the business;
Ø Develop and maintain close working relationships with Tier 4 Brokers within Region and assist in the relationship development of potential Tier 4 Brokers;
Ø Work closely with respective Regional Team Leader of Operations and credit / support teams to ensure service delivery is consistent with overall Regional and Channel service delivery goals;
Ø Manage relationships and relate to people across a multitude of levels both internally & externally;
Ø Manage conflicting priorities;
Ø Strategic thinking capability that can be translated into implementation;
Ø Active management of the agreed sales processes to achieve personal and business goals;
Ø Exhibit confidence in relationships internally and externally through a solid understanding of sales processes and principles;
Ø Understand the issues that drive business profitability and be able to work within the imperatives of these.
Key Performance Indicators:
Ø Achieve agreed loan funding targets by Fiscal Year-end;
Ø Achievement of agreed conversion and service feedback rates;
Ø Achieve agreed gross income targets by Fiscal Year-end.
Ideally you will possess:
Ø Minimum 5 years experience in a retail banking/mortgage industry environment;
Ø University qualification or equivalent;
Ø Strong knowledge of Lending (in a Retail Banking environment);
Ø Distribution of products via intermediary relationships;
Ø Knowledge of mortgage/loan processing operations including approval, settlement and post funding;
Ø Strong attention to detail;
Ø Strong Customer Service focus;
Ø Strong relationship management skills;
Ø Strong sales skills / performance;
Ø Adaptable to changes in pace and levels of urgency required to achieve business and clients expectations;
Ø Resilient, persistent and determined personality to continue with marketing plans for new client development even if faced with rejection or difficulty;
Ø Commitment to setting and achieving personal and business goals as part of the role within the business;
Ø Ethical and professional to uphold Macquarie's goals and values and own personal values generally and in the face of adversity;
Ø Strong interpersonal communication skills to conduct presentations to clients and staff in an articulate and knowledgeable manner;
