Graduate/Junior Management Accountant, Macquarie Securities – Sydney

Macquarie Securities Group encompasses Macquarie's Institutional and corporate stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance capabilities. It utilises its skills in research and risk management to originate equity-based financial solutions and products and services for client, globally.  The Macquarie Securities IT group is responsible for delivering and deploying new technologies, managing the technology infrastructure, supporting, maintaining and enhancing existing business systems for the Macquarie Securities Group (MSG). Due to continued growth, we have an excellent junior role within the MSG IT Program Office (PMO) for a capable graduate.

As a member of the PMO team, you will be primarily responsible for financial reporting, performance analysis, and ensuring data integrity. Reporting into the PMO Manager you will work closely with the team to provide support to MSG IT management in relation to financial reporting, data modelling, and analysis of key performance measures. In addition, relationships will need to be established and fostered with key account managers and business managers with the aim of providing insights and interpretation of financial data. The nature of the role requires attention to detail and quality, analytical skills, demonstrated organisational skills, and excellent communication skills. The individual will be expected to be flexible and adaptable in Macquarie's changing environment, proactive, self-motivated, and value the customer (internal and external). Specifically you will:

Work with the team to provide end-to-end financial management for MSG IT, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, trend analyses, and other financial management requirements with a focus on producing accurate, relevant and timely financial information.  Additionally you will perform financial analysis (quantitative and qualitative), ensuring data integrity throughout the process and deliver high quality, value-add support to internal and external stakeholders

You will ideally have:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in accounting or finance
  • Exposure to and a strong interest in management accounting and management reporting
  • Exposure to, and management / delivery of, MIS in a PMO environment would be well regarded
  • Good skills in MS Office along with advanced skills in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Delivery focused - Flexible, pro-active, highly motivated to achieve outcomes, ability to work to deadlines.
