Macquarie Securities Group (MSG) encompasses Macquarie's Institutional and corporate stockbroking, equity derivatives and equity finance capabilities. It utilises its skills in research and risk management to originate equity-based financial solutions and products and services for client, globally. The Macquarie Securities IT division operates as a core part of the business and considered to be part of the front line, developing and supporting leading technology platforms which are critical to the group’s success. The division is co-located with the business in a fast paced and changing environment. We are currently looking for a capable Project Office/Management Accounting Analyst to join the PMO team in Sydney.
The MSG IT Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for financial reporting, trend and data analysis and the running of the development steering committees, to ensure the relevant development governance processes are completed accurately. Operating as a key member of this team, you will be responsible for taking ownership of the associated financial reporting processes, with the drive to implement process improvement, whilst ensuring regular deadlines are met. They will be working in a complex, outcome focused IT environment, requiring significant experience in influencing people globally and coordinating, facilitating and motivating senior managers. You will also be responsible for the running of one of the largest development steering committees, ensuring that the program governance and project management processes are maintained. More specifically you will:
Provide end-to-end financial management for the MSG IT business function, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, trend analyses and other financial management requirements with a focus on producing accurate, relevant and timely financial information.
Deliver high quality, value-add support to internal and external stakeholders.
Managing all aspects of recurring senior management steering committees, and corresponding output and communications.
Ideally you will have:
- Strong qualifications in a relevant area including IT, Business and/or Commerce
- Sound relevant working experience in the profession or a relevant commercial sector, with either experience or relevant exposure to the workings of a central PMO function
- Solid experience in financial management, management reporting and associated reporting requirements
- Knowledge of program governance, steering committee processes and the project management process
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, with advanced Excel skills (2007)
- Basic Access knowledge specifically required for data extraction, modelling and analysis
- Preferably knowledge of (OLAP type system) TM1 and the complexities of working with large data volumes along with data modelling skills on large data sets
- Experience in the preparation and presentation of detailed reports
- Ability to prioritise and manage competing demands with a strong sense of ownership of areas of responsibility
- Ability to work as part of a team, yet the ability to work independently as required
- Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail in working with some capacity to appreciate the “bigger picture”.
- Ability to work in a changing environment with often competing deadlines
