In this role you will be a subject matter expert across oil products and Macquarie’s systems ensuring accurate reporting of position, profit and loss and liquidity and cash flow forecasts on a daily basis. You will be responsible for position and P&L reporting, including operational management of any position models, manual processes and the month-end hand over of P&L to Finance. You will also act as the point of escalation for issues with automatic trades and support the front office with the entry of non-standard or new trade types.
Working closely with the Risk team, you will help ensure that all price curves used to value positions are correctly calculated and implemented into the appropriate tools and systems on a daily basis. Furthermore, you will be passionate about leading initiatives for positive change, such as identifying areas for improving accuracy, efficiency and the speed and quality of data.
To flourish in this role, you will be equipped with relevant experience in energy commodities, gained within a middle office, finance or risk role, coupled with a degree level (or equivalent) education or other relevant professional qualifications.
You will possess experience in mark-to-market accounting, liquidity and cash flow forecasting along with solid technical knowledge of valuation and position modeling methodologies.
You will be a confident user of Trading Systems with the ability to demonstrate learning agility across new processes, technology and applications.
Finally, your ability to work as part of a fast-paced team, and build excellent rapport with a wide variety of stakeholders will be highly regarded along, with a drive and passion to deliver timely, high-quality in a pressurised, yet highly rewarding environment.
