The Commodities and Global Markets (CGM) Chief Operating Office (COO) team has representatives in all key hubs. Our team works with businesses and support areas to ensure that they operate efficiently and effectively to meet CGM’s strategic goals. They also help to find solutions for operational and commercial issues facing the business and acts as the unit that enables front-to-back management.

Work directly with the regional Chief Operating Office and other various senior stakeholders, giving you the visibility to make this a career defining opportunity.

As a Business Manager, you will be involved in initiatives that impact various CGM businesses, products and markets across our ANZ businesses as well as those within our regional teams. You’ll work on initiatives including project implementation, systems and process improvement, co-ordination of new product/business/systems approval process, as well as qualitative and quantitative analysis. You’ll also be responsible for certain ongoing activities to ensure CGM continues to meet its strategic objectives (e.g. cost monitoring/management, business resilience activities, workplace technology).

This highly-visible role will see you act as a pivotal escalation point for both business and support areas and offers unique access to a number of senior executives. You’ll work directly with divisional risk/business management teams, our trading desks, as well as stakeholders at all levels to understand, define and solve issues, analyse business processes, data and costs as well as to identify efficiencies. Across these initiatives, you will also design detailed plans and then use these to track the implementation progression. You will also prepare presentations to management and provide status updates as required.

With a relevant business degree and 5-7 years of experience in financial services in business management, operations or project management, you’ll also need to have gained an understanding of the regulatory environment of a global markets business. We’re seeking a high level of PC literacy, strong reading and report writing skills, analytical, organisation and problem solving capabilities and an understanding of the importance of delivering detailed and accurate work. Importantly, you’ll need to be able to manage multiple tasks and projects, meet time critical deadlines, be fully accountable for your work and be driven and commercial. Understanding of derivative products is not required, but will be highly-regarded.
