Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of operational issues and perform both short-term resolution, and development of preventive measures for the longer term
  • Proactively perform monitoring to maintain highest availability and performance of systems supported
  • Manage and respond to queries and issues reported by business users
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders
  • Utilise development skills to drive automation and improvement within immediate area
  • Work assigned shifts to ensure full business coverage, on weekdays, as part of follow-the-sun support model (along with staff in Sydney, London and Chicago)
  • Work rostered weekends

Requirements

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, FinTech
  • Ability to work as an individual contributor as well as part of a larger team
  • Solid communication skills
  • Experience in Oracle, Sybase, DB2 and/or  MSSQL and strong SQL skills
  • Understanding of Incident, Change and Problem management processes
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work - eager to embrace change and take on opportunities to develop new skills and gain business/technical exposure
  • Able to plan and prioritise own objectives and deliverables

 

Desirable

  • Experience with supporting vendor systems
  • Experience working with Confluence, JIRA, Remedy (or similar ticketing system)
  • Prior experience in a business facing role, able to liaise with stakeholders as required
  • Experience/Exposure to Java/J2EE, C++, VB.NET, C#, Unix scripting
  • Experience with JasperSoft and Pentaho highly regarded
  • Experience in supporting Futures Clearing business highly regarded
  • Prior experience supporting middle & back office systems highly regarded
